Project idea
Build a mobile robot that uses three stationary UWB anchors and one on-robot UWB tag to trilaterate its position and follow user-sent coordinates indoors with holonomic motion using mecanum wheels. The coordinate goals are sent from an Android app over Bluetooth, while an STM32 controller performs TWR/TDoA ranging, heading estimation via a magnetometer, and mecanum kinematic control to reach waypoints accurately.​

 

Project description
Three UWB anchor nodes (each a DWM1000 with an ATmega328/Pro Mini) form a triangle grid; the robot carries a DWM1000 tag to measure ranges to anchors and compute its pose for navigation using IEEE 802.15.4a UWB at up to 6.8 Mbps with ≈10 cm ranging accuracy capabilities in RTLS modes. An STM32F103C8T6 “Blue Pill” drives four DC motors via L298N drivers for mecanum holonomic movement and consumes goal coordinates received via an HC‑05 Bluetooth link from an Android app for path execution. A 3‑axis magnetometer (HMC5883L/QMC5883L form factor) provides heading, while LM2596 buck modules and a 3S Li‑ion pack power logic and actuation for mobile operation.​
