Project Idea:
This project improves the power factor of a transmission line using Static VAR Compensator (SVC). Instead of old rotating machines, it uses Thyristor Switched Capacitors (TSC), controlled via an 8051 microcontroller. The system detects lagging power factor due to inductive loads and activates shunt capacitors to draw leading current, effectively correcting the power factor in real-time.
