Develop an IoT-enabled smart indoor navigation system that provides accurate, real-time positioning and turn-by-turn guidance inside buildings (malls, airports, hospitals, warehouses) using a mix of BLE/UWB beacons, Wi-Fi/IMU sensor fusion, and a mobile/web app for visitors and asset tracking.
Project Description
The IoT-Based Smart Indoor Navigation System combines low-power positioning beacons (BLE or UWB), edge controllers (ESP32 / Raspberry Pi), IMU/odometry data, and a cloud mapping platform to deliver reliable indoor positioning and navigation. Beacons and anchors create a location layer; devices (smartphones, tags) receive signals and compute position via trilateration or sensor-fusion algorithms (RSSI filtering, Kalman/particle filter, or SLAM if cameras/LiDAR used). A central server stores floorplans and semantic POIs (shops, gates, rooms) and provides routing, turn-by-turn instructions, and accessibility-aware paths. Admins use a dashboard to manage beacons, view live asset locations, and analyze footfall. The system supports multi-floor buildings, dynamic map updates, offline mode, and APIs for integration with facility management or emergency response systems.
