Project Idea

Design an IoT-based smart parking system that monitors parking slot availability in real-time and updates the status on a mobile app or web dashboard. This project helps drivers find available parking spaces quickly, reduces congestion, and promotes smart city infrastructure by automating parking management.

 

Project Description

The IoT Based Smart Parking System uses ultrasonic sensors to detect the presence of vehicles in parking slots. A NodeMCU (ESP8266/ESP32) microcontroller gathers data from these sensors and sends the status of each slot to a cloud platform like Blynk, ThingSpeak, or Firebase via Wi-Fi. Users can view real-time parking availability on their smartphones, making it easier to locate vacant spots. LED indicators can be added to guide drivers in physical parking lots. The system is scalable, portable, and an excellent prototype for smart city applications.
