Project Description
The system authenticates a passport holder via RFID technology. The passport data (name, passport number, nationality, issue/expiry date, etc.) is stored in an RFID tag (card or embedded chip). When the tag is swiped (brought in proximity) over an RFID reader, the reader reads the data and sends it to an 8051 microcontroller. The microcontroller compares the read data with stored “authorized” data in its internal (or external) memory. If the data matches, the system displays a confirmation message (“Access Granted”) on an LCD; otherwise, it shows a denial (“Access Denied”). A “status” button allows the operator to query the current status of a given ID (e.g. whether the passport is valid, revoked, expired). Optionally, logs or alerts may be stored or transmitted.
