Develop an IoT-based smart waste collection system that monitors waste bin levels and optimizes waste collection schedules. The system notifies municipal authorities or waste management teams when bins are full, ensuring timely collection, reducing overflow, and promoting efficient urban waste management.
Project Description
The IoT-Based Smart Waste Collection System uses ultrasonic sensors to measure the fill level of dustbins. A Node MCU ESP32 microcontroller collects this data and transmits it to a cloud platform (Blynk) over Wi-Fi. Users (waste collection authorities) can monitor bin statuses in real-time through a dashboard, receiving notifications when bins reach their threshold levels. The system helps optimize collection routes, reduce operational costs, and maintain urban cleanliness. Solar panels can be integrated for a self-sustained power supply, making it suitable for smart city applications.
