This project automates and secures a science or research lab using IoT. It monitors environmental parameters like temperature and humidity, controls lab devices (like fans, lights), and manages entry using RFID cards. The system sends real-time data to a cloud platform and alerts in case of unsafe conditions, ensuring safety and energy savings.
Components :
ESP8266 – Sends lab data to the internet using Wi-Fi.
DHT11 Sensor – Measures the room’s temperature and humidity.
RFID Reader – Scans access cards to allow or block lab entry.
Relay Module – Turns ON/OFF lab lights or fans like a switch.
Buzzer – Makes noise if something goes wrong.
LCD Display – Shows the lab's temperature, status, etc.
Power Supply – Gives power to the system.
Wires/PCB – For connecting all parts together.
How It Works :
A DHT11 sensor constantly checks the lab’s temperature and humidity.
The ESP8266 microcontroller collects the sensor readings and sends them to a web dashboard via Wi-Fi.
An RFID reader at the lab door scans ID cards to allow or deny entry.
A relay module turns lab lights and fans ON or OFF based on user commands or environmental conditions.
If temperature/humidity go beyond safe levels, a buzzer rings to alert users.
The system keeps track of entry logs and lab status remotely.
