Project Idea
Develop an IoT-enabled smart energy meter that measures real-time electricity consumption, transmits usage data to a cloud platform, and allows users and utility companies to monitor, analyze, and optimize energy usage remotely.

 

Project Description
The IoT-Based Smart Energy Meter uses digital sensors and wireless connectivity to provide accurate, real-time monitoring of electrical energy consumption. The system records voltage, current, power factor, and total energy usage, then sends the data to a cloud platform for visualization and analytics. Users can access this data via a mobile app or web dashboard to track consumption patterns, detect unusual usage, and receive billing estimates. Utility companies can also remotely disconnect or reconnect supply, reducing manual work and improving efficiency. The system can send alerts for overconsumption, faults, or tampering.
