Project Idea

Monitor water levels in real-time using IoT technology to predict and alert about potential flood situations. This system uses water level sensors connected to a microcontroller and transmits data to the cloud. When water crosses critical levels, alerts are sent via sms, enabling authorities or individuals to act swiftly and prevent disasters.

 

Project Description

The IoT-Based Flood Detection System is designed to detect rising water levels in rivers, dams, or urban drains. It uses water level sensors to continuously monitor the environment. A NodeMCU (ESP8266) microcontroller gathers data and uploads it to an IoT platform like Blynk When the water level exceeds a predefined threshold, the system sends alerts through the app via SMS using a GSM module. It can also trigger a buzzer and LED indicators for immediate local alerts. The system is compact, reliable, and suitable for deployment in vulnerable flood-prone areas.
