Project Idea
This project demonstrates controlling electrical loads like lights and fans directly from a PC using an RS232 interface connected to an 8051 microcontroller. It eliminates the need for manually switching devices in different rooms, making it ideal for applications like auditoriums, colleges, and offices.
Components:
8051 Microcontroller
Crystal Oscillator
Resistors & Capacitors
Transistors & Diodes
Cables and Connectors
PCB and Breadboards
LED Indicators
Transformer/Adapter
Push Buttons & Switches
Integrated Circuits (ICs) & IC Sockets
Lamps
Project Features:
Control multiple electrical loads from one PC.
Uses RS232 serial communication.
Demonstration with lamps as loads.
Fully functional hardware prototype.
Expandable for more loads with minor modifications.
Can be upgraded with a GUI for better usability.
Applications:
College & auditorium load control.
Office lighting and fan automation.
Smart building load management.
Training module for embedded systems.
