Project Idea:
This project demonstrates a solar-powered battery charging system that efficiently converts solar energy into electrical energy and stores it for later use. It also controls and monitors charging levels to prevent battery damage due to overcharging or undercharging.

 

Project Description:
The system uses a solar panel to charge a battery through photo-voltaic energy conversion. Using op-amps, it constantly monitors important parameters like panel voltage and load current. When the battery is fully charged, a green LED is turned on, while a red LED indicates overcharging or undercharging conditions. MOSFETs are used to cut off the load when harmful charge levels are reached, and a transistor diverts the current to a dummy load when fully charged, protecting the battery and ensuring safety.
