Project Idea:
This project aims to reduce industrial and commercial power losses by improving the power factor using shunt capacitors. It detects the time lag between voltage and current using a comparator circuit and displays it on an LCD. An 8051 microcontroller processes this data and automatically switches capacitors using relays to bring the power factor closer to unity, thus reducing electricity bills and improving efficiency.
