Project Idea
The project aims to automate the traditional railway level crossing gate system using an Android application. Instead of manual lever operation, the gate is controlled remotely through Bluetooth commands sent from an Android device to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Project Description
This system eliminates human errors caused by manual gate operation and provides a reliable approach to railway crossing management. An Android application sends open/close commands via Bluetooth to an 8051 microcontroller, which drives the DC motor to operate the gate. The gate’s status (open or closed) is shown on an LCD display, allowing real-time monitoring. This project provides safety for vehicles and pedestrians while minimizing accidents due to gate malfunctions or delayed manual response.
