An IoT-based smart thermostat is an intelligent temperature control device that connects to the internet to monitor, manage, and adjust a building’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. It collects temperature data, processes it, and allows users to control settings remotely using a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
Component:
ESP32 / ESP8266 – Controls the system and connects it to the internet via Wi-Fi.
DHT11 / DHT22 Sensor – Measures the room’s temperature and humidity.
Relay Module – Acts like a switch to turn ON/OFF the fan or heater.
OLED / LCD Display – Shows the current temperature and system status.
AC Fan / Heater – Adjusts the room temperature as needed.
Jumper Wires – Used to connect all components together.
Breadboard – Helps build the circuit without soldering.
5V Adapter / Power Bank – Provides power to the system.
How It Works:
ESP32/8266 reads real-time temperature and humidity from the DHT11/DHT22 sensor.
It displays the readings on an OLED/LCD.
Based on the temperature, the ESP controls a Relay to switch ON/OFF a heater or fan.
Threshold temperature limits can be set using Blynk App or via hardcoded logic.
Everything is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi, so you can also control/view it remotely.
